Tuff-Dowel™ provide excellent load bearing and resistance to bending and shear. They’re easy to install – simply fix the dowel sleeve to the formwork, insert the dowel plates into the sleeves and pour concrete. With preinstalled nails, the sleeves are easily nailed onto formwork, minimising the risk of misalignment.

How it works
Tuff-Dowel™ Plate
The Tuff-Dowel™ sleeve encases half the steel dowel to de-bond the dowel from the concrete and provides high lateral and contraction movement at the joint which is critical to ensuring the slab panels are able to move freely without restraint.
Sufficient load transfer in concrete is critical to an effective design. Load transfer is considered at joints and cracks in concrete floor slabs and can be defined as the ability for a slab to transfer shear to an adjacent slab. For example, when materials handling equipment (MHE) moves across the floor and approaches a concrete slab joint, the panels need to work together to adequately carry the load applied by the MHE. This interaction between each panel (called the approach and leave slabs) is achieved by load transfer.
They also work with the K-Form expansion joint system for efficient concrete pours in many applications including internal & external industrial slabs, driveways, and pathways.
